The Disappearing Woman

This was a canvas that I had painted an Art Show sign on it. I repurposed it by painting Gesso over it and the water soluble wax pastels I used on the sign spread into the gesso with the paint brush. It kind of reminded me of the fabric that covered my mom’s couch in her living room. Then I drew the figure with a purple wax pastel and then used white, purple and a some black acrylic paint.
You can still see the ART Show sign letters in the right light seeping through.

Here comes the poem-ish bit 👇

She is being assimilated into the man-made fabric of this 3D life on her mother’s couch.

I never liked that couch.
