Shrouded

Thick, obscuring

chatter dampening

saturated silence

hair curling and bone chilling

Alone

with your thoughts

till there are no more

crystal clear clarity

serenity

vast finality

the veil has cushioned you from all that is external

so that you may hear

what is most dear

you just know this is the point

the comforting sound of nothingness

then

comes the deep reverberating tone

of the foghorn

wailing in the distance
